Edward* is widowed and although he has two children, they both live out of state and cannot visit as often as they would like. So Edward appointed his ­grandson, Albert, as his attorney under his Durable Power of Attorney.

Until recently, Albert has been assisting Edward on an informal basis. But now Edward’s health has taken a turn for the worse. He is suffering from age-related dementia and can no longer manage his own affairs. His grandson, Albert, met recently with a Harris enCircle Specialist to discuss his responsibilities under the Power of Attorney.

In addition, Albert and the Harris enCircle Specialist set up bill payments and are managing his grandfather’s accounts to ensure Edward has enough money for the extended care he needs.
